Full Description

Extant standard Type. D-shaped polygonal pillbox standing in field on slope. Good condition, Interior has barrel coolers below loops. Smooth cement finish in and out but vertical timbers employed to form internal angles. 1946 aerial photo shows it isolated. Faces SW. Door NE. Five 'stepped' openings. Interior deflector wall behind door. 'KLEIN KAMPFANLAGE' indicated on German 1940 fortification map (leading to search) found 31.10.15.

The previously recorded pillbox of Second World War date was visible as a structure in RAF/26J/UK1445 V 7199 12-SEP-1941. The feature is later visible as an extant structure on Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021. It was mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (2-3)
