Summary
During an archaeological evaluation undertaken by the Canterbury Archaeological Trust at, Dover Road, Folkestone, Kent a slightly organic deposit formed from dark grey sandy clay loam of 0.5m maximum thickness was revealed. This contained common charcoal flecks, common peg-tile, rare animal bone and rare oyster shell. This organic material indicates that the preservation of underlying Pent Stream deposits is likely to be good in thispart of the site, but that these deposits lie at great depth (over 2m below modern ground level).
