(TR337552) Four Iron Age coins discovered near Worth by metal detection in Mar 1988. (TR33735527) IA Coin found in the same way in 1985. TWRA-TYMAR-IA-22 Dated to c 17-10 BC and of the Cantii, Dubnovellaunus-in-Kent. It is made of AE. The diameter measures 12.75-14.25 mm and the weight is 2.11 gm. The obverse side shows a boar right and inscription 'DVBNOV' in rectangular box below. The reverse shows an eagle standing 3/4 right, wings spread. The catalogue reference is VA 180-1 and it is a Cantian L. The coin is in good condition. TWRA-TYMAR-IA-23 Dated to c 10 BC and of the Trinovantes, Sego/Tasciovanus. It is made of AE, measures 15.25-16.25 mm in diameter and weighs 1.595 gm. The obverse side has a geometric pattern, eight-pointed star composed of curved lines, rings on points, crescents linking points, central pellet-in-ring motif. The reverse shows a bull left, tail curves over back, branch and ring and exergual line below bull, large pellet-in-ring motif above bull, S and small pellet-in-ring motif behind bull. Catalogue references Obv, VA 1855-1/Rev. VA 1808-1. It is a Trinovantian P/O mule. The coin is in very good condition, identification certain. TWRA-TYMAR-IA-24 Dated to c 10-20 AD and of the Trinovantes, Cunobelin. It is made of AE, measures 14.75-17.5 mm in diameter and weighs 2.365 gm. The obverse side is very worn but shows a Celticized Pegasus left, head looks back to right, off-centre. The reverse side shows a victory left, holding branch and probably wreath, CVN to left, pellet border. Catalogue reference VA 1973-1. The coin is a Trinovantian U. TWRA-TYMAR-IA-21 Dated to c 100-90 BC and of the Trinovantes. It is made of cast iron potin. the diameter measures 16.5-17mm and it weighs 2.955 gm. The obverse shows the helmetted head of Apollo. The reverse shows a bull charging with exergual line below. Catalogue reference is VA 1406-1 and it is a Trinovantian A. (TR3373527) TWRA-TYMAR-IA-11 Dated to c 20-43 AD and of the Trinovantes, Cunobelin. It is made of AE, measures 14.25-16 mm in diameter and weighs 2.92 gm. The obverse side shows a Griffin right and the reverse shows a Celticized horse right, off-centre. Catalogue reference VA 2081-1. It is a Trinovantian W type. It is already in CCI, but mis-identified as ? Kentish. (1)
