Summary
A Bronze Age sword with a flanged hilt and fifteen rivet holes for attaching wooden or bone hilt plates was found in the Medway near Upnor. Thought to now be held at the British Museum.

Full Description
[TQ 76 71 - sited to Lower Upnor only] Bronze Age sword with flanged hilt having fifteen rivet holes for attaching wooden or bone hilt plates was found in the Medway near Upnor. Now in the British Museum (1). A sword from the Medway at Upnor Reach is 31 1/4inches long and 1 7/8 inches wide at the broadest part (2). Unable to gain access to site location in 2004 as area is used by the military. (3)
