Full Description
(TR33755765) Iron Age coin dated to c 320 BC of the Siculo-Punic. Discovered near Sandwich by metal detection in late 1980s. Coin Reference no. TWRA-TYMAR-ia-40. The coin is made of AE, measures 15.25-16.5 mm in diameter and weighs 2.055 gm. The obverse side shows a head of Tanit left and the reverse which has some corrosion shows a horse standing right, palm-tree in background. Catalogue references Corpus Nummorum Siculorum, Kartago 20 series. Probably a late Iron Age import. Already in CCI. (1)
