Full Description
(TR338576) IA Coin dated to c 320 BC of the Siculo-Punic. Reference no: TWRA-TYMAR-IA-35. The coin was discovered near Sandwich by metal detection in the late 1980s. It is made of AE, measures 15.75-16.5 mm in diameter and weighs 2.08 gm. The obv side shows a head of Tanit left and the reverse side shows a horse standing right, palm-tree in background. Catalogue reference Corpus Nummorum Siculorum, Kartago 20 series. The coin is probably a LIA import (see also no 40) Coin rather corroded, particularly on reverse. (1)
