Findspot record TR 26 NE 156 - Iron Age coins, near Monkton Court Farm
Summary
Four Iron Age coins were discovered by metal detectorists near Monkton in the 1980's. Three of the coins were made of cast bronze and dated to c.100-90 BC. They were of Trinovantian type and one was in a poor condition, showing evidence of corrosion. A fourth coin dated to c.23-17 BC and was of Cantian type. This coin is thought to have been made of silver. It is uncertain where these finds are now located
