Full Description
(TR33705540) IA coin found near Worth by metal detection in 1983, ref TWRA-TYMAR-IA-10. The coin dates to the mid 1st century BC and is Gaulish, Ambiani. It measures 12.5-13.5 mm and weighs 1.39 gm. The obverse side shows a horse left with very elongated neck and deformed legs, pellets in field. The reverse shows a thin horse left with very long legs, large pellet-in-ring motifs above and below. Catalogue references: Obv-as Scheers series 65, class 1 (cf plate 365) Rev, as Scheers series 97 (cf plate 434) Already in CCI, but mis-identified as Dubnovellaunus. (1)
