`...was lost due to the pilots carelessness although the weather was fine. Every possible assistance was rendered, the crew all saved. It was reported from Deal on May 2nd that the WINDSOR CASTLE sets fast still. The men are all saved and it is hoped the greatest part of her stores and provisions may be preserved it the weather proves favourable.'
