Full Description
[TQ 540 735] Sited to Lowfield Street only. Several visits were paid to the old jail in Lowfield Street, before and during the demolition. The exterior was photographed and photos were secured of prisoners' inscriptions and carvings on the woodwork. A plaque is being designed which will be let into the street front at a suitable height recording that the Dartford Bridewell stood on this site AD 1720-1932. Lowfield Street.
