`...struck on the North Sand Head on Wednesday at 2am Ship's boat washed overboard with the mate and by 8am the vessel had sunk, only her mast being above water, holding her crew in the rigging. At 4pm the Broadstairs lugger FAME saved six of the crew when it became a little calmer, by throwing ropes and dragging them through the water, landing them at Broadstairs.'
