`...all fears regarding this vessel are now at rest, the wreck was found on the outer edge of the sands, with many casks of tallow floating down channel, a box containing Sydney letters and newspapers was found floating and taken up. The address on the box had been washed off, but it is without doubt the unfortunate vessels mail which has been returned to the authorities. It is not known exactly how many were in her crew, somewhere between 20 and 30. The lugger's report that there are two other new wrecks on the Sands, and that all the crew of both have been lost. Part of a ship's stern washed into Broadstairs and a figurehead, the bust of a man and two figures with wings have been taken up and brought into Broadstairs.'
