Full Description
Former Presbyterian Mount Sion Chapel was built in 1720. It declined in the early 19C and was closed after a brief use by Wesleyan Methodists. Independents acquired and refurbished it in 1830 but the Mount Pleasant Chapel succeeded it. It is shown on the 1897-1900, 1907-23 1929-52 and current O/S maps. It is now used as an office.
Former Presbyterian chapel in Little Mount Sion built in 1721. It had closed by 1814, and prior to its closure Wesleyans had worshipped there. Between 1830 and 1848, a Congregational church worshipped there. It is a square building with brick walls rendered externally with four round-arched windows in each of the walls. Low-angled hipped, slate, roof. Now used as a social hall. (1)
