Full Description

Former Presbyterian Mount Sion Chapel was built in 1720. It declined in the early 19C and was closed after a brief use by Wesleyan Methodists. Independents acquired and refurbished it in 1830 but the Mount Pleasant Chapel succeeded it. It is shown on the 1897-1900, 1907-23 1929-52 and current O/S maps. It is now used as an office.

Between 1830 and 1848, a Congregational church worshipped there. It is a square building with brick walls rendered externally with four round-arched windows in each of the walls. Low-angled hipped, slate, roof. Now used as a social hall. (1)
