Monument record TR 34 SW 2099 - Troop Stable/Mobilisation Store of the South Front Barracks, Western Heights, Dover

Summary

Between 1860 and 1870 a Troop Stable and Store for Mobilisation Equipment and Vehicles was constructed (alongside a variety of other structures) on the rising ground to the south of the casemated barracks at the South Front Barracks. It was located on the southern side of Citadel Road, the south-western two thirds of the structure contained the mobilisation store and a gun shed, this was of timber construction while the north eastern third was of brick and housed the transport horses. (location accurate to the nearest 1m based on available information)
