Full Description
Two Palaeolithic handaxes from Motley Hill, Upchurch are in Gillingham Museum, seen by Wymer in 1957 (2, 3); and one from just "Upchurch" is in Bournemouth Museum, listed by Roe (1). There was a pit at Motley Hill in early 20th C, shown in the OS Survey, 2nd revision, County Series at 1:2500, and this is a likely source of these finds.
