Full Description
Pleistocene mammalian remains from loam-filled fissures in the Lower Greensand (Hythe Beds) at Boughton, near Loose. First noted by Topley (1), and then reported by Worssam (2). Species include bovid, red deer, horse, hyanea, mammoth and woolly rhinoceros. (1-2)
The remains of hyaena, mammoth, woolly rhinocerous, reindeer and red deer were found in Boughton Cave (precise location unclear) in or before 1869. (3)
