`Ramsgate, 20th Oct. 1775: We had a violent storm of wind last night, which lasted four hours; during which time...three brigs sunk on the south shore...' (2)

Wind conditions at Deal SW on the 19th. (4)

The first of three unnamed brigs lost. The ambiguity of the text makes the manner of loss unclear, although the specific position of loss may indicate stranding, and a fourth (named) brig was certainly stranded.
