'On passage, put into Plymouth and remained there until 10th November but encountered severe southerly gales off Beachy Head, where a squall carried away her mizzen mast. Off Deal, she was boarded by four men from a local boat, no agreement was made but they helped bring her to anchor at 3.30pm. on 11th November at about noon, despite 55 fathoms of chain out, she commenced to drag and the local men insisted the vessel should run for Ramsgate. Early that afternoon they were told it was too early for the tide, yet they still slipped both anchor without the masters authority. Again advised to wait they still paid no attention, causing the vessel to go aground outside the West pier at Ramsgate. As the tide flooded so they drifed towards the East pier, from where two hours later, the lifeboat brought them ashore. The Deal men then took the ship's boat, again without the skippers permission.
