'The DIANA, Robinson, from Cork to London, is on shore near Margate. The cargo is expected to be saved.' (2)

'Margate, Feb. 19. Yesterday about noon a fine brig struck on a sand called the Wedge, just off this place; she is named the DIANA, of Bridlington, Robinson, Master, from Cork, bound to London, with a cargo consisting of 565 barrels of butter, 850 tierces and 1100 barrels of beef. The crew are all saved, and our boats are actively employed in bringing away the cargo.' (4)

NB: Source (3) states the place of loss as 'near Margate' and the date of loss as a reporting date of 22 February 1799, based on the issue date of (2).
