Lloyd's list (no 4526 8th of January 1811) notes that: ' During a most violent gale of wind from E.N.E on Friday Night and nearly the whole of Saturday, the following losses and accidents occurred […] The Jeze Fortuna (sailed by) Mendoza, from London to Lisbon, parted from her moorings in Dover Harbour and sunk' (2)
