Ranger was a British Troopship, Master: Younger Date of Loss Qualifier: R Additional sources cited in United Kingdom Shipwreck Index. Lloyds List No.4526, 08.01.1811(Tue) (1)

Lloyd's list (2526 8th of January 1811) notes that: 'During a most violent gale of wind from E.N.E on Friday Night and nearly the whole of Saturday, the following losses and accidents occurred […] The Ranger Transport (sailed by) Younger of Kirkaldy, parted from her anchors and cables and drove on shore behind the South Pier Head at Dover. Her stores aned rigging saved'. (2)
