The Fortitude, a British Merchantman Master: Williams Date of Loss Qualifier: A Additional sources cited in United Kingdom Shipwreck Index. BOT.SCS.Wk.1816 Appx.7 p280 (1)
Lloyd's list (No 5047 9th of February 1816) notes: 'The Fortitude (sailed by) Williams of and from Dartmouth to London, in entering Dover Harbour hit the pier, ran on shore and is totally wrecked. The crew and a small part of the cargo was saved'. (2)
