Full Description
' - the wheat and mahogany cargo was saved, the wreck being purchased for 200 by speculators from Whitstable and Canterbury, report unfavourable, they thought a 'rabbit', as had been the KATE and ALICE, wrecked on the Woolpack in 1857.' In September divers passed four chains under the hull of the NORTHERN BELLE, but whether they were successful or not in lifting the hull is not known.
