Summary
Former Methodist chapel in Vicarage Street built circa 1788. The cause did not prosper, and in 1797 it was leased to the Baptists formerly meeting at Shallows. The freehold was sold to them in 1816, and it was greatly enlarged to the rear in 1834, and to the front in 1938. The broad front facing south-east has been heightened . It had a cenral entrance with round-arched head between two similarly arched windows.

The freehold was sold to them in 1816, and it was greatly enlarged to the rear in 1834, and to the front in 1938. The broad front facing south-east has been heightened .
