Full Description

The current 20th century swing bridge which is located on Union Street, betweeen Wellington Dock and the tidal harbour is a replacement of an earlier bridge which was constructed in 1849. It is visible on the First and Second Edition OS maps of Dover but by the time the Third Edition had been surveyed it had been replaced. (1-4)
