Monument record TR 06 SW 1479 - Remains of a medieval dungeon found in 2013
Summary
A watching brief carried out in 2013 during the construction of a water main found the remains of a medieval dungeon. The remains consisted of a curved flint wall and was believed to be part of the dungeon belonging to Faversham Abbey and called 'Le Gayle' in a charter of 1546.
