Summary
Archaeological excavation carried out in 2005 at the new ellington School site discovered a bronze age hoard. The hoard (dated to c. 1000 to 800 BC) included socketed axes, spear heads, gouges, sword fragments and copper and bronze ingots.

Full Description
Archaeological excavation carried out in 2005 at the new Ellington School site discovered a bronze age hoard. The hoard (dated to the Ewart-Park phase, c. 2800-2600 BC) included socketed axes, spear heads, gouges, sword fragments and copper and bronze ingots. The hoard had been illegally removed by a metal detectorist but was subsequently recovered. (1)
