Full Description
Brockhill Park was possibly a former deer park and contains a number of historic landscape features including boundaries, earthworks, garden features etc. The park is divided between Brockhill Country Park (in the west and north) and Brockhill Park School (in the east and south). The park probably has its origins in the medieval period. By 1280 Sir Warren de Brockhull was residing at Brockhill which may have orignally been a game park within the Saltwood estate. The park was divided in 1592 and again in 1608. A Jacobean manor house was subsequently built that now forms part of the school buildings. After the line of the owners died out the estate was bought by Kent County Council in 1947 and the non-school part opened as a Country Park in 1986 (1)
