Vessel lost in wind conditions NE x E force 8 at night whilst laden with empty lemonade bottles. (2)
'She is much strained and fills with the tide. Confirmed from Dover today by Lloyd's Agent that cargo is all bottles, vessel badly damaged and chances of saving her slight. Arranging to save the cargo. Reported from Lydd 31.03 at 8.35am, the German schooner is now likely to be a total wreck. Crew landed by rocket apparatus.' (2)(3)
