Full Description
Following set-up of local charity the farmhouse was used as the Parish Workhouse. The inmates worked on the adjoining farm in return for board and lodging. The farmhouse ceased to be used as a Workhouse after the 1834 Act when Cranbrook Union Workhouse came into use.
