Full Description
Brick wall and rooms used for military purposes, part of the Indented Lines. The wall is buff coloured brick and forms a terrace along the seaward edge of the site. There are a series of alterations including inserted rooms and archways that were used as stores and by 1899 as a 'North Test Room' and as a control centre for a submarine minefield in the Thames Estuary. The wall is believed to be contemporary with TQ 97 NW 1095 (1)
