`Dover, May 29, 5.20pm - FRITZ, barque of Swinemunde, from Dantzic for St Nazaire (timber and boards) stranded at Littlestone at 10 last night. Captain tried to get her off without assistance; has now arranged with two tugs for next tide for 125l if successful, 10l each if unsuccessful; vessel leaking. Dover, May 30 - FRITZ - Attempted to tow off last tide unsuccessfully. Vessel had four feet of water in her at high water. Shall try again to tow off this tide. If not successful then must lighten...FRITZ - Not sufficient water to move vessel this tide. Seven feet water in her hold. Shall commence to lighten at once.' (3)

`Dover, May 31 -FRITZ - No chance of getting vessel off till next spring tide. Seven feet water in her hold this tide. Vessel being lightened and yards sent down.' (4)
