Full Description
During an archaeological watching brief undertaken on two pits excavated on the southern side of Emmaus Community's Workshop, in the western corner of Archcliffe Fort, a small assemblage of prehistoric flints were uncovered. Five calcined flintes were recovered, together with six waste struck flakes. Two of the flakes were very small finishing pieces and are suggestive of tool production close-by. Based on previous finds, a broad Neolithic-Bronze Age date for these flints seems likely. (summarised from report) (1)
