Full Description
The former Gilbert Union Workhouse in River, Dover was set up in 1790 and in operation until 1834 when the new Dover Union Workhouse opened on Coombe Valley Road. The River Workhouse is shown on the Tithe maps, the 1862-75, 1897-1900, 1907-23 and current O/S maps. It is now a private residence.
