Full Description

Stock brick with plaster detailing, two bays on eastern side, four on southern and single bay at south eastern corner. Plaster mouldings on widow surrounds with scrolled brackets/corbels holding pediments above on the first and second floors - triangular on the first and semi-circular on the second- all in good condition. Decorative cornice over third floor held with moulded brackets/corbels and a brick and plaster parapet over, with plaster coping at the top guttering coming through from the roof level. Plaster string course on the western façade (also forming a sill) at bottom of the window level on 2nd and 3rd floor on the southern side this is also at the top of the window level and covers the lintel. Simply moulded plaster pilasters are located between the windows and on the corners and edges of the building. All of the plaster work is painted a uniform colour with little in the way of discolouration or damage. The south eastern corner is at an angle to the rest of the structure. The ground floor has been heavily inserted/modified for commercial use. There is a later but in keeping three storey extension in red brick with evidence of a basement below, on the western (rear) side of the property. Whole building is in a good condition. All windows are new PVC replacements, with decorative moulded plaster surrounds. Two bays on the first and second floor on the eastern side, a single window on each floor at the angled SE corner, one on the 1st floor and two on the 2nd and 3rd floors on the southern side with a further three (one per floor) which have been blocked. The ones which have been blocked still include decorative mouldings and pediments while the open examples do not, suggesting that they are a possible later insertion. There is a door within the later extension on the southern side, possibly leading to the upper storeys with a small window above. (1)
