Small mid C19th (possibly earlier) domestic cottage style building in a rendered and painted (yellow) brick. Forms part of a short terrace fronting immediately onto the street on the north eastern side of Queens Gardens (6-8) which was originally much longer but was demolished in the first half of the C20th to make way for the rear of the large theatre/cinema (now the bingo hall). The render is scored across the façade to create the illusion of a large block construction. There is a single window on each floor, aligning across the floors, each with a protruding stone sill. These windows are located on the south eastern half of the façade with a door on their north western side. The render protrudes slightly above the windows and door creating the illusion of a large lintel above them. There is a gutter at the eaves level, this is shared with the south eastern neighbour (No. 7). The building appears to be in a good condition with no obvious cracks in the render.

There are two windows, one per floor and a single door, all of which appear to be later though in-keeping replacements. The door is in a painted (white) timber with a glazed upper panel which is divided into nine frosted panes by timber glazing bars. Both the ground and the first floor windows are timber framed sashes (again painted white) with both the upper and lower parts divided into two panes by timber glazing bars. All are in a good condition.

The roof is gable and in slate with the gable end over north western party wall. The roof structure is shared with No 7 on the south eastern side, while the north western end abuts the south western part wall of No 2-4. There is metallic flashing where the roof structure meets the wall. There is a fair amount of lichen growth on the roof but otherwise it appears to be in a good condition and structurally sound.

On a similar small scale as many of the buildings located on this narrow muse style street. The busy two way traffic detracts from the small and quiet feel of this side street.(1)
