Full Description

Small premises located on the north eastern side of High Street, near the junction with Ladywell. The ground floor has been heavily inserted for a commercial use with the commercial fascia running across the whole of the ground floor. There are two doors, one located next to the north western party wall which provides separate access to the upper floors and a second, giving access to the commercial ground floor, located in the south eastern portion of the façade. There are two, floor to ceiling windows located on either side of the ground floor door, and two narrow rectangular (horizontal) windows above both the transoms over the doors. The first floor is rendered and there is a decorative cornice with dentil detailing below the eaves. This render is badly discoloured and cracked in places, particularly in the area just over the commercial fascia. A single window located centrally within the first floor façade, the base of this window rests directly over the fascia over the ground floor and the top is immediately below the eaves. The eaves overhang the first floor and there is a timber fascia board beneath them which is in a poor condition. An amount of untidy wiring crosses the façade associated with a security system and a large satellite dish on the north western side of the window. Overall the building is untidy and is in need of some attention.

All the openings for the commercial ground floor are modern and plastic. The door providing access to the upper floors is also modern though in timber painted white. The first floor window is a plastic. All appear to be in a good condition, though a bit dirty.

The roof is steeply pitched and gabled, with the gable ends over the north western and south eastern party walls. The roof is in slate with ceramic tiles over the ridge, some of the slates appear to have been recently replaced. There is some bowing evident in the roof structure, suggesting that there may be some problems with the structural integrity of it, though this is not certain. (1)
