Full Description
Small premises located on the north eastern side of High Street, near the junction with Ladywell. The ground floor has been heavily inserted for a commercial use with the commercial fascia running across the whole of the ground floor, a small amount of vegetation growth is located above this fascia. There is a single door located centrally within the ground floor façade with large, floor to ceiling windows on either side of it. The first floor is in a painted (white) brick, there are a few areas of brickwork which have been left un-painted, presumably these areas would have originally held further commercial signage. A single window located just off centre within the first floor façade, the base of this window rests directly over the fascia over the ground floor. There is a small brick parapet over the first floor with un-painted brick coping. A modern plastic gutter down pipe runs through a small gap in this parapet down to the pavement level over the north western party wall. An amount of untidy wiring crosses the façade associated with a security system and a large aerial on the north western side of the window. Overall the building is untidy and is in need of some attention, though appears to be structurally sound, with no large cracks visible in the brickwork.
All the openings for the commercial ground floor are modern and plastic. The first-floor window is also plastic. There is a modern skylight located centrally within the roof. All appear to be in a good condition.
The roof is steeply pitched and gabled, though the north western end is half hipped. The roof is in concrete tiles and there is a single central skylight. There is some bowing evident in the roof structure, suggesting that there may be some problems with the structural integrity of it, though this is not certain. (1)
