Full Description
Small premises located on the north eastern side of High Street. The ground floor has been heavily inserted for a modern commercial use with the commercial fascia running across the whole of the ground floor. There is a single door located centrally at the ground floor level, with large, floor to ceiling windows on either side of it. The upper floors are rendered and painted (red) and there are a few small cracks visible within this render. A single window is located centrally on each floor, both have moulded architrave surrounds with decorative keystones. The sill of the second floor window is supported by two small decorative plaster brackets. There is a modern plastic gutter at the eaves level this is shared with its north western neighbour (no. 14). A security system is attached to the façade just above the ground floor level, with its associated wiring running across the top of the commercial fascia. The party wall visible over the south eastern neighbour, which is not as tall, is rendered and un-painted. A few cracks are visible in the render on this party wall. including a satellite dish located near the base of the first floor window, on its south eastern side. Overall, despite the cracks in the render, the building is in a good condition and appears to be structurally sound.
All the openings for the commercial ground floor are modern with metallic surrounds. The first and second floor windows are also modern and in plastic. All windows and doors are in a good condition.
The roof is steeply pitched and gabled, with the gable ends over the north western and south eastern party walls. The roof is in slate with all slates in a good condition. There is some bowing evident in the roof structure, suggesting that there may be some problems with the structural integrity of it, though this is not certain. (1)
