Full Description

Narrow building located on the north eastern side of High Street between two buildings of a similar size. The ground floor is heavily inserted for a modern commercial use and retains no original features. There is a door located on the south eastern side of the facade and there is a large window to the north west of it, with the modern commercial fascia stretching across the whole of the top of the ground floor. The upper floors are in a painted (white) brick, with a single window on each floor. The first floor window has a decorative plaster cornice above, supported by two scrolled plaster brackets. This plasterwork detail is dirty and slightly weathered, similar features are present on the north western neighbour (No. 22) suggesting that they were constructed at the same time. . The second floor window is smaller than the first and although it lacks the scrolled brackets and cornice, has a moulded architrave surround which is also weathered and worn. A brick parapet with stone (?) coping is situated over the second floor. Several modern features are attached to the façade, including a security system and a commercial sign, the associated wiring is located over the commercial fascia. The paintwork on the upper floors is dirty in places but otherwise the building is in a good condition and appears to be structurally sound.

All of the openings are modern replacements, those on the ground floor have metallic surrounds while on the upper floors they are plastic. All are in a good condition.

The roof structure was not clearly seen from the road as it is located behind a parapet. A large areal is visible over it on the south eastern side and a chimney pot indicating the presence of a stack is located on the north western side. (1)
