Full Description

Relatively narrow building located on the north eastern side of High Street, it is similar in style and scale to its south eastern neighbour (No. 24) suggesting that they are contemporary, though many of the decorative original features present on No 24 have been removed on this building. The ground floor is heavily inserted for a modern commercial use and entirely glazed. The door is located on the south eastern side of a large window which is divided into four large panes. The area over the party walls is clad with ceramic tiles and a large commercial fascia runs across the whole of the top of the ground floor. The upper floors are in a rendered and painted (white) brick, with a single window on each floor, located centrally within the façade. This render has some crack, particularly at the upper levels. There is a parapet over the second floor, some vegetation growth is visible behind this parapet. A number of modern features are attached to the façade, including a large commercial sign and security system at the first-floor level and an aerial at the second floor level. The north western elevation is also rendered and painted white. A modern gutter down pipe is situated near the south western corner of the building and there is a single opening, located near the north western corner of the building at the ground floor level. Overall the building appears to be structurally sound and in a good condition.

All of the openings at the ground floor are modern with metallic surrounds. These are in a good condition with all panes present and intact. the first and second floor windows are timber frames and casement, it is unlikely that they are original, though they have some age. The frames are painted blue and there are some chips to this paintwork. Overall the windows are in a good condition with all panes present and intact.

The roof structure was not clearly seen from the road as it is located behind a parapet. Slightly more of the roof was visible from the north western side, from here it could be ascertained that it is hipped with ceramic tiles, though not enough was seen to make an assessment of its condition.
