Full Description
A tunnel complex of uncertain but probably military origin is present beneath Long Hill, Dover. The brick structure above is for ventilation and generator exhaust. (1)
The station is believed to have been related to the underground tunnels at Dover Castle. It has been suggested they were linked to the DUMPY tunnel system that was constructed during the Second World War and later used as a Cold War Regional Seat of Government. (2)
