Full Description

Forms part of a C19th terrace on the south western side of High Street. This building is in a brown brick with a rendered basement level. The ground floor is at a higher level than the street and the front door, which is located on the north western side of the façade, is accessed via a set of eight steps with a low brick wall and iron balustrade on either side of them, this is a later addition. The door has a semi-circular fanlight located above the transom and a corresponding brick arch above. A further door is located beneath the steps up to the ground floor providing separate access to the basement level. There are four windows located on the main façade aligning across all floors. All have flat gauged brick arches over and small protruding sills. A moulded eaves level cornice is located at the top of the second floor with a parapet with stone coping above, both are painted white. Both the cornice and the parapet are in a poor condition with the paint and plasterwork flaking away. A modern plastic gutter down pipe runs through a gap in the brickwork just below this cornice, it continues down to the basement level over the south eastern party wall. A number of modern features are located across this façade, including an aerial attached at the top of the first floor level and several modern vents. Overall this building is slightly untidy but despite this it appears to be structurally sound and in a good condition.

The ground floor door is modern and in a treated timber, the basement level door is also modern and in timber painted white. There is a semi-circular window above the transom over the ground floor door, this is likely a later insertion. There are four windows, one per floor aligning across the floors. All are late modern plastic insertions.

The roof level was not clearly seen as it is located behind a parapet. It is slate and gabled with the gable ends over the south eastern and north western party walls. (1)
