Full Description

Early C20th semi- detached building which forms part of a short terrace located on the eastern side of Eastbrook Place. The building is rendered and painted grey with a pebble dashed first floor. The door is located on the southern end of the façade, immediately abutting the southern party wall and there is a small rectangular window above the transom over this door and two further rectangular windows (vertical) abutting each of the jambs. A small original metallic boot scraper is located at the pavement level on the southern side of this door. There render at the ground floor level has a few severe looking cracks and the paintwork is flaking away in several locations. There are two closely spaced windows at the ground floor level on the northern side of the door. Both are round headed and have a central keystone. Two small vents are located beneath these windows just above the pavement level suggesting the possible presence of a basement below this building. A moulded and painted (black) string course is located at the top of the ground floor, the tops of the keystones over the ground floor windows rest directly beneath this string course. There are three equally spaced first floor windows, the northern aligns with the door. Each has a slight segmental arch above. A rendered band is located at the top of the first floor with a moulded cornice and a rendered parapet above. A fair amount of vegetation growth is attached to this parapet. The rendered band drops slightly in the areas between the windows creating an arch above them and there are two scrolled brackets supporting the cornice at the point where this rendered band drops. A decorative plaster pilaster is located at the first floor level running from the base of the cornice (where it is scrolled) to the top of the string course, over the southern party wall. It is likely that another would originally have been located over the northern party wall but this has been removed. The northern (side) elevation is also rendered and painted white. There are some areas of untidiness across this façade where improvements could be made but overall the building appears to be structurally sound and in a fairly good condition.

The door is located on the southern side of the façade, it is possibly original and in timber painted black with five panels. There is a small rectangular window above the transom over the door and two narrow rectangular windows on either side of the door immediately abutting the door jambs. All of these windows are in an opaque glass and have fixed timber frames. The two ground floor windows are round headed and consist of two pane timber framed sashes. The first floor windows are also two pane timber framed sashes though these are flat headed. All of the timber frames are painted white, this paintwork is chipper and flaking away though otherwise the windows are in a good condition with all panes present and intact.

The roof level is located behind a parapet and was not clearly visible from the street level. There is a tall brick stack located over the northern party wall with a tall aerial attached to it. (1)
