Full Description
Part of a small terrace on the north eastern side of London Road. It is in brick with a commercial use of the ground floor. This ground floor is level with the street while the first floor is set back slightly from it. There is a single, glazed door at the ground floor level located on the south eastern side of the façade with a large rectangular window on its north western side, occupying the remainder of the ground floor façade. The upper part of the ground floor was obscured by a large rolling awning blind. A small area of brickwork with stone coping is visible above this blind. The area over each of the party walls and below the window is rendered and painted a light brown colour. There are three small vents within the render below the window. The first floor is in an exposed brick there is a single window, located just off centre with a rendered flat gauged brick arch over. The roof (which appears to be flat) overhangs the first floor very slightly and there is metallic flashing over this overhang with a treated timber fascia board directly beneath it. Overall the building appears to be structurally sound and in a good condition.
The ground floor is largely glazed with a glazed modern door and large rectangular window on its north western side. The frames of both of these are modern. The single first floor window is possibly original, it is casement with a timber frame and divided into (at least) four panes by timber glazing bars, one of the lower panes appears to be missing and the paintwork on the timber frame is in a poor condition. All of the ground floor openings are in a good condition while the first floor window is in a poor condition.
Neither the main roof or the roof over the protruding ground floor were visible from the street level though both appear to be flat. (1)
