Full Description

Forms part of a small terrace on the north eastern side of London Road. The whole build is set back very slightly from its north western neighbour but flush with its south eastern. The ground floor is level with the street and retains a number of possibly original C19th details including; the fluted pilaster and consoles over the party walls, the timber window and door surrounds, the protruding commercial facia and the moulded cornice at its top. The door is located centrally within a recessed porch area. The return on the south eastern side of this porch is glazed while that on the north western is open and possibly provides access to the upper floors. There is a window on either side of this recessed porch with fluted timber pilasters on the corners, the northern has been blocked. The upper floors are set back from the street and the front of the ground floor. Metallic flashing and an original iron railing is located over the cornice above the ground floor creating a small balcony in front of the first floor. The first and second floors are are in an exposed brick with a small brick parapet with stone coping over the top of the second floor. There are two windows on both the first and second floors, aligning across the floors, all have rendered flat gauged brick arches over and small protruding sills. There is a small flat roofed dormer located centrally at the roof level. A possibly original gutter down pipe runs through a gap at the base of the parapet over the south eastern party wall. Several modern features are attached to the brickwork, including two satellite dishes with their associated wiring draped untidily across the façade. Overall the building appears to be structurally sound and in a good condition.

The ground floor door is located centrally and is within a small recessed porch. It is in timber painted black with a large glazed upper panel. A square window is located above the transom over this door. The return towards this door on its south eastern side is glazed while the northern side is open. The norther of the two windows on either side of the porch is blocked while the southern is divided into two large rectangular panes. All of the window and door frames are in timber panted red to match the commercial fascia. There are four windows located across the first and second floors. These are a mix of original and late C19th timber framed sashes divided into multiple panes by timber glazing bars. The first floor windows are possibly late C19th replacements, they are slightly taller than the second floor windows and are four large panes divided by timber glazing bars. The second floor windows are possibly original and are divided into nine small rectangular panes (three wide by three high) by timber glazing bars. There are two windows located at the roof level, these are also possibly original. The flat roofed dormer appears to be a later casement, the paintwork on the frame of this dormer is in a poor condition and is chipped and flaking away. All window frames on the upper levels are in timber painted white. Overall the windows are in a good condition with all panes present and in-tact.

The roof is hipped with concrete tiles. There is a brick stack located over the north western party wall. overall it appears to be in a good condition (1)
