Monument record TQ 64 SW 4 - Site of the Chantry Chapel of St Mary, Church of St. Peter, Pembury

Summary

The Chapel of St. Mary was founded as a Chantry in the 14th cent but was subsequently demolished during the suppression of the chantries under the reigns of Henry VII and Edward VI. Whilst no remains are now thought to exist documentary evidence from a will suggests that it was located on the south side of the chancel in the present graveyard.
