Monument record TQ 83 SE 315 - Early medieval droveway, Limes Land, Tenterden

Summary

A drove road running east-west across the southern part of the Limes Land landscape to the east of Tenterden. This is thought to be one of a number of early medieval 'Jutish' droves across Kent, which were used for 'pannage, or for allowing herds of swine to feed on acorns and other nuts in the forest. These droves date back to the eighth century and possibly before.
