Full Description
A plan of Dover Castle dating to 1806 shows a number of buildings at various locations within the footprint of the Castle which have since been demolished. The use of many of these buildings is unknown and their date of construction and demolition is also unknown. It seems possible however, that they may belong to the 18th century military works which were undertaken at the Castle. One of the buildings (located in the area which is now occupied by the NAVVI building) is labelled as a 'Blacksmiths Workshop'. (1)
