Full Description
Evaluation trenching revealed at least two and perhaps four, new Anglo-Saxon graves were (in Trenches 1 and 3; Grs 7 & 8; Fs 105 & 107), which must represent a south-westerly continuation of the burial area previously examined on the adjacent site to the north-east in 2012. A shield boss, vessel rim binding and a probable socketed spearhead were found in Grave 8. A residual prehistoric flint was retrieved from the fill of Grave 8. (1)
